I am an Australian novelist and short story writer. My debut novel, Hindustan Contessa, was published by Picador. Hindustan Contessa was bought by Pan Macmillan Australia after the first 100 pages were read by their editor at the Tye Novel Writing Conference run by John Marsden.
My short stories have won the My Brother Jack Short Story Award, The Alan Marshall Short Story Award and been a prizewinner in The Age Short Story Award. I have been widely published in literary magazines.
The film Ibrahim, based on one of my popular articles in The Age newspaper, won an A.T.O.M award.
I live in Melbourne, Australia.
I also inhabit a virtual world called The State Of Writing in Kitely, where writers meet. In this world I am the virtual avatar, Arton Tripsa. I own Writers’ Island, The State Of Writing, Writer’s Retreat and Writer’s RoadTrip – refuges for all writers and readers. Everyone is welcome!

Congrats on all your writing success! I wanted to be a published writer, but I doubt that will ever happen for me.
Jane, very good to see you on WordPress! Also, I loved the movie Ibrahim. I had no idea it was based on your work. Very cool.
Thanks Damon! Good to see you here!
